A NEW CHAPTER FOR ARTS AND CULTURE IN RAILTON!

A significant milestone was reached in Railton, Swellendam, as learners from surrounding schools, community members, artists and local creatives gathered to witness the official groundbreaking of the Railton Multipurpose Arts and Culture Centre. The event was officiated by Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie, who joined the community in celebrating the extraordinary talent and creative potential that exists across generations in Railton.

The new centre will provide an important space for the community to create, learn, collaborate, develop skills and showcase their work. Among its planned facilities is a music studio, which will provide emerging artists with opportunities to record, develop and promote their music.

STAND Foundation is proud to serve as the Implementing Agent for the Railton Multipurpose Arts and Culture Centre project, working alongside the Railton Foundation Swellendam, National Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the Western Cape Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport to support the development of this important community facility.

At the heart of Railton, the centre will create opportunities for young and old, helping to nurture local talent and strengthen access to arts and culture. This is more than the construction of a building, it is an investment in people, talent, creativity and the cultural future of the Railton community.

The foundation has been laid. The next chapter begins.
